The Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, October 26, in a game that will decide the tone of the division race. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. Both franchises entered Week 7 with identical 2-4 records. The New York Giants currently lead the NFC East with a 4-2-1 mark.

The Eagles have dealt with a string of injuries that have reshaped their roster. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is inactive for the game due to blood clots. This injury has sparked debate regarding the medical team's handling of his condition. Running back Saquon Barkley practiced in full on Saturday. He remains listed as questionable for Monday night. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith is out with a hamstring injury.

The Cowboys arrived in Philadelphia with their own set of challenges. Dallas ranked last in the NFL in run defense entering the week. They also placed 23rd in pass defense and 25th in scoring defense. Offense, however, has been more stable. Quarterback Dak Prescott led a unit that ranks fifth in the league for passing efficiency.

Betting markets listed the Cowboys as 4.5-point favorites on the road. The total points line was set at 44.5. SportsLine projections simulated the matchup 10,000 times. The model favored the Eagles to cover the spread in 53 percent of the results. Experts cited the Eagles' potential to control the clock if Barkley returns.

Philadelphia's offense has struggled to find rhythm this season. The team ranks last in yards per play at 4.4. They are 31st in pass yards per play and offensive success rate. In his first start against Carolina, Tanner McKee threw the ball 45 times while the team ran just 13 times. The return of Barkley could provide a necessary balance to protect the backup quarterback.

The Eagles face a Cowboys defense that showed improvement in the previous week. Dallas held Green Bay to 318 total yards in their Sunday game. However, the Cowboys' offense has stalled, scoring only 29 points across the last two games. They averaged 335 total yards during that span. The Eagles will rely on their home crowd and a revamped offensive line to generate pressure.

The game serves as a critical juncture for both clubs. A loss would leave either team 2-5 with four division games still to play. The Eagles need to establish their identity without their starting quarterback. The Cowboys need to prove their defensive unit can sustain a turnover-free game against a physical run game.
