The Art Alliance will host its annual fall fundraiser, titled "The Art of Celebration!," at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7. The event takes place at the Riverside Art Museum, located at 3425 Mission Inn Ave. in Riverside. Organizers describe the evening as an interactive cocktail party designed to generate revenue for the museum. All proceeds from ticket sales and auction bids will go directly toward funding the museum's daily operations.
The organization traces its roots to 1965, when 12 women established the group. It remains a volunteer-run entity today. Karen Karlsson, the current president, reaffirmed the group's commitment to the museum. "Our mission remains as steadfast as ever: to dream up, support, and take part in activities that benefit the Riverside Art Museum and help fund its operations," Karlsson said in a statement.
Judith Runyon, the chairperson of this year's fundraiser, explained the shift in format for the upcoming event. "For this year’s event, the Art Alliance wanted to shake things up and create a celebration that feels lively, social, and full of surprises," Runyon said. She added that the night is intended for guests to "sip, mingle, see creativity unfold, and discover something unexpected around every corner."
The program features live demonstrations by local artists and business owners. Elisabeth Girke will demonstrate printmaking techniques. Andrea Mario Palagi, who owns Art’s Bar and Grill, will teach cocktail mixing. Rob Arbagey from More Beer, More Wine will discuss home brewing. Lupita Garcia of Blooms by Lupita and her sister Jackie will show guests how to arrange flowers. Doug Earley will perform on the saxophone throughout the evening.
Guests can select from wine, a signature cocktail, or beer. Local breweries Carbon Nation and Route 30 Brewing Company are donating the beer. Two Trees Kitchen will serve appetizers to attendees. The evening also includes a sale of original works by Art Alliance members, their families, and friends. A silent auction will be held alongside the gallery display.
Admission is set at $50 per person. Designated drivers pay $40. The Raincross Gazette community calendar lists details regarding tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the event.
