San Bernardino County residents face new options for behavioral health housing and support services as the county Behavioral Health Department releases an update to its long-term plan. The revision introduces two new housing development projects that will add 98 units across the county. It also adjusts how existing programs are organized and reallocates funding to match current service delivery models.

The Behavioral Health Services Act Integrated Plan dictates how the county spends money on mental health services, housing, and community supports. The original document covers the period from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029. The current Intermittent Update allows officials to modify the strategy as conditions change without waiting for the next full planning cycle.

County officials launched this review process to gather input from a wide range of stakeholders. The department is seeking comments from residents, family members, service providers, and community partners. This feedback helps the department identify local priorities and clarify any concerns before finalizing the changes. The goal is to ensure the plan reflects the actual needs of people living in San Bernardino County.

The public comment period ends on November 9, 2026. Individuals can submit their thoughts through online comment forms available in both English and Spanish. For those needing translation, interpretation, or disability accommodations, the department provides a dedicated contact line. Callers can reach the office at 800-722-9866, while TTY users should dial 7-1-1. An email address, bhsa@dbh.sbcounty.gov, is also open for correspondence regarding the update.

The department stated that community input is a standard part of this revision process. By reviewing the proposed changes, residents can influence how resources are directed toward wellness, recovery, and resilience services. The final decisions will guide county investments in behavioral health for the next three years.
