Two residents of Nooksack were booked into the Whatcom County Jail on Tuesday after deputies charged them with robbing and assaulting a car seller on Aldrich Road.

The incident began on October 22 when a victim arranged to meet a buyer at a retail store on Meridian Street. The victim was selling a vehicle and allowed the potential buyer to test drive it.

During the drive, the buyer pulled over and ordered the victim out of the car. He then struck the victim in the head multiple times. A woman arrived in a separate vehicle and began hitting and kicking the victim. The victim reported that one of the suspects restricted their airway by placing hands around their throat.

The male suspect drove off in the victim’s vehicle while the female suspect left in her own car. Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Aldrich Road for the report of a motor vehicle theft involving an assault.

Investigators identified the suspects as David Jackson, 57, and Blanca Jackson, 58. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the car that left the scene in the couple’s driveway. Probable cause supported charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Both Jacksons were arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail without incident on October 25.
